Groves Update
Prayer/Praise Report - Jan. 2009

Greetings my friends. Well 2009 is now upon us and with that brings about many changes for all of us. We have now been here six months and have begun to address some of the changes we would like to see happen here at Victory Villa. Last Friday night I did my best to cast the vision and purpose of this ministry by explaining who we (Cadence Ministries)are and what we feel the Lord would have us accomplish in the lives of those He brings our way.

It seems that throughout the past few years the Villla's identity has become clouded at best. Many people we have talked to don't really understand our purpose here nor how we are funded. I was able to explain to about 50 people that we have a primary ministry focus of the military community of Rota (not an english-speaking church, not a catch-all program).

With this "rebranding" of the Villa in full swing, we're getting creative in how to get the word out on a base we can rarely enter. Besides going to a chapel service, some ideas include getting involved in the homeschool group and joining Boy Scouts. Please pray these are successful inroads into the community.

We have also begun a few new things to minister to the whole military family: Stacey will begin a new program on Friday nights for K-5th called "Adventures in Theology" from Insight for Living. She is also hosting a monthly scrapbooking day, to which several ladies come that don't normally attend the Villa. We started a new DVD study called "Shepherding a Child's Heart" on Sunday afternoon. Please pray with us that these programs bring glory to God and enrich the lives of those who attend.

Also, please pray for us in our relationships with our Villa "family", that we:
1) build them up in their faith
2) build a sense a family here at the Villa
3) encourage them to begin teaching others what they are learning
4) encourage them to become missions minded
5) teach them to serve to the glory of God both in time and finances.

It is to God's glory that we seek to equip these men and women to grow in their relationships with Him. We seek to be a small piece of the Cadence puzzle to "exalt Christ in the nations through the lives of transformed military people!"
